ROCK OUT THE SUMMER !! Martocchio Music Rock & Blues Camp is an exciting program of instrumental study and group performance. We offer the opportunity for musicians to improve their playing skills while performing in rock bands this summer. Students will participate in rock playing, song writing and improvisation. We will also cover such topics as music theory, ear/vocal training and rhythm. Guest Faculty will include internationally renowned musicians. SUMMER JAZZ CAMP Playing jazz can be learned on any instrument. Martocchio Music Summer Jazz Camp is an exciting program of instrumental study and performance in jazz and improvisation. We offer the opportunity for music students to improve their skills and broaden their musical experience through group playing, jazz improvisation, and theory study. A percussion class and an elective in either computers in music, guitar or keyboard lessons, or history of music will be offered. These daily classes are for students entering Grade 7 and up, and for beginning, intermediate and advanced jazz students. Curriculum: •Sectional Lesson on Primary Instrument •Studies in Improvisation •Theory and Keyboard HarmonWorkshop •Percussion Ensemble •Small Combo Ensemble •Big Band • Elective Computers in Music Beginning/Continuing Guitar Beginning/Continuing Keyboard History of Jazz - lecture and listening Dates and Times: 2009 Each two-week session will consist of daily classes totaling 4 hours of individual and group instruction, and ensemble playing. Classes are held at Martocchio Music. Classes run 9 AM to 1 PM weekdays, with a Recital Concert on the final Friday of each session. The first day of class, new students are to show up at 8:30 AM to complete registration, placement and scheduling. Returning students 8:45 AM. Bring a snack.
